Instructor-led training for the Fall 2012-13 Personnel Activity Report (PAR) is open for enrollment. The class, “BPARS 200” is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., Thursday, January 10, in Room 1142 of Lawson Computer Science Building (LWSN).
Due to the success of the Web-based PARs training (“BPARS 100”), only one live, instructor-led session is being offered this semester. The presentation will be live-streamed via Adobe Connect for staff who are unable to attend in person.
The first half-hour of the class is geared for staff who have attended previous PARs training and focuses on important reminders and a brief summary. After a short break, the information becomes more detailed for attendees looking for a refresher and for those new to PARs.
To ensure a seat in the instructor-led class, participants must enroll; there is no separate registration for the first half hour. Attendees who plan to attend the presentation remotely via Adobe Connect also must register.
Instructions for connecting to Adobe Connect will be emailed to attendees prior to the class.
PARs will be distributed during the session, and business managers are asked to sign for the PARs for their area. Participants who attend the training via Adobe Connect must have a business manager come to the training in LWSN 1142 to collect their PARs. PARs for regional campuses will be sent via FedEx.
Online PARs Training Also an Option Staff who prefer a Web-based BPARS training, may enroll in “BPARS 100—Introduction to Certification of Effort.” The online course provides the same information that is provided during the instructor-led training.
To register for the online course:
Staff who choose the online course must complete their training and assessment before 5 p.m., Thursday, January 10. In addition, they must pick up their PARs in person either at the classroom session, 2:30 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., Thursday January 10, in 1142 LWSN; or between 8 a.m. Wednesday, January 9 and 5 p.m. Friday, January 11 from the Costing Department, located in Freehafer.
For more information about either training option — classroom setting or Web-based —please contact the Costing Office or Business Services Training and Communications.
