I-9 Verifiers should be aware of the E-Verify Issue with Adding Social Security Numbers:
Until further notice, no social security numbers (SSN) should be entered into the E-Verify section of the Onboarding dashboard. This applies when an international employee, who did not have an SSN at hire, but now has an SSN, is presenting it to complete the E-Verify process of the I-9. There are ongoing issues with the E-verify Summary for I-9s for international employees when an SSN is added into the E-Verify Section of the Onboarding dashboard.
However, for benefits or treaty purposes, we need to be able to enter the SSN into payroll. Please Filelocker the SSN card to Donna Mullins (dmullins).
Follow-Up communication will announce when the issue is resolved.
