Job Description:

The successful candidate will provide fiscal management for the Physical Facilities Energy & Construction (E&C) Department, which includes Utilities. Will work directly with the Senior Director of E&C, Director of Energy Services, and other associated staff, regarding the fiscal management of E&C and Utilities accounts, commodities, and projects. Will administer annual general fund budget totaling $49 million as well as additional funds from both bonding and the State. Will provide reporting and analysis for all energy and utility related projects and funding sources. Will serve as primary resource for utilities plant expansion calculations and work closely with other Fiscal Affairs Management and staff members. Will coordinate and calculate plant expansion costs for new building construction, renovations, and upgrades related to Utilities. Will also oversee the commodity hedging activities within Physical Facilities. The incumbent will be responsible for supervising 1 Administrative/Professional and 3 clerical staff members.

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Five years of progressively responsible financial and management experience.
  • Consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of related education and required work experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, organizational, project management, and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated quantitative analytical skills and ability to solve complex problems with little or no guidance.
  • Ability to manage the production of timely and accurate reports based on customer requirements.
  • Ability to focus on key issues and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to influence and build working relationships among a diverse workforce at all levels.
  • Ability to foster a participative supervisory style, focusing on teamwork to successfully guide the work of others.
  • Must possess a learning orientation to changing technology impacting business processes.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to meet established deadlines.
  • Personal computer and related software skills, e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Management, Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
  • Five years of progressively responsible financial and management experience at a University or higher education.
  • Additional Information:
    • A background check is required for employment in this position.
    • FLSA: Exempt (Not Eligible For Overtime)
    • Retirement Eligibility: Defined Contributions Immediately.
