Human Resources "Moving Forward in Four" Training

Human Resources Talent Acquisition will present a four-part training series for current staff members interested in strengthening their candidacy for career opportunities at the University.
Participants will progressively move through the four sessions, which are designed to build upon one another. Participants should plan to attend all four sessions.
Create Your Path
  • You work at Purdue, so you already have a great start on your path to a strong career. Your next plan of action should be to make sure that your future Purdue path keeps you focused on doing something that you enjoy and excel at in order to make your career goals a reality. Attend this session to learn the basics of the hiring process at Purdue, to open up your mind to some self-discovery and maybe even to explore a range of possibilities you may not have considered to make your Purdue path navigational.
Resume Builder
  • What will get your resume and cover letter noticed? At this session, you will learn how to build a strong resume and compose a cover letter that will highlight your work-related knowledge and experience. In addition to discussing tips and trends, we will also bust some well-established but untrue resume myths.
The Interview
  • How do I prepare for the interview? This session will provide tips that will help you walk into an interview more prepared and more confident, resulting in a more positive experience.
  • Participants will meet individually with Talent Acquisition professionals to have their resumes reviewed and will participate in a mock interview. Attendees will be provided with constructive feedback on your resume and interviewing skills.
