Mobile Tech Users Group to discuss tablets, social media at Sept. 3 meeting

Professor Robert Herrick will present on his experiences incorporating technology, including tablet computers, into his electrical engineering technology course at the Mobile Technology Users Group meeting 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3 in Lawson Computer Science Building, Room 1142.

The meeting is open to all faculty and staff, to reserve a spot click registration. Those who are unable to attend in person can view the meeting online.

In addition to Herrick’s presentation, ITaP educational technologists will demonstrate the Windows Surface Pro 3 tablet computer and present results from a faculty survey on social media usage conducted last spring.

The Mobile Technology Users Group is a forum for faculty and staff to share new applications and innovative uses of mobile technology in educational contexts.

ITaP’s users group meetings return this fall for faculty and staff looking for new ideas and updates on popular instructional technology. Current users groups to meet later in the semester focus on Blackboard, Web conferencing and Qualtrics. Meeting agendas will be posted on the ITaP workshop catalog as they become available.
